How face-to-face QR payments work, device to device.
In-person payments are designed for situations where the business and customer are physically together.
The service provider enters a fixed or custom amount on their own device, usually a tablet or phone. A QR code is generated instantly and shown to the customer. The customer scans the QR code using their own mobile device and completes payment using their preferred payment method.
This flow removes the need for card terminals, cash handling, or installing apps on the customer’s phone. Payment confirmation happens instantly, and a receipt is generated automatically inside the system.
Typical characteristics:
⚬ Face-to-face interaction
⚬ Two devices involved (merchant device and customer device)
⚬ QR code used as the payment trigger
⚬ Immediate payment confirmation
Common use cases include field services, counter payments, hotels and villas, walk-in retail, pop-ups, and on-site service visits.
